and I thought...

from Times Life, 31st May 2009
"Internationally, Lakshmi Menon has entered the fashion stratosphere with her first solo shoot in the US 'Vogue'. And she may just be the first official Indian supermodel. But even she believes, "I don't want to wake up one day and find I have done nothing but model."

hahahahaah...
and I thought.....

It's been a long time I didn't go anywhere other than office!!! I miss those nice winter sunday morning rides to places around ahmedabad... I still miss the great trip to Kutch... I miss those longg hours spent at the bandra kurla bust stop with satish and amit... i miss photography, I miss ( actually I don't) the never ending 'joke' (!!!) by vijay on way back to ahmedabad from fruitless trip to Alang...
I am working... and working... am I? don't know... needed a break... and this should be the perfect one...
:)
GOAing tomorrow!!! :)
(mannnn it's been 3 days and I haven't even seen my bike :( :( )

'halo' who is this?

Everybody has a distinct way of saying 'halo' on phone. This is how some of my friends say halo and what I feel when they say it!:

  • AR: Did I call some phone enquiry number? Your 'halo' (actually 'bolo') sounds like "what do u want?"
  • DS: Am I standing in front of you? Your 'halo' (actually 'heyyyyyy bhavinnnnn') is more like a hug! I like it buddy ;)
  • KG: Ohh did I wake you up? Your 'halo' (actually 'haan bol bhavin') comes from somewhere 5 feet away from phone! ;)
  • MB: (now there is lot of variety, so if 'you' call me it's like this) no I didn't do anything... And why is some police officer using ur phone? hahaha.. ( and when 'I' call you) your 'halo' (actually 'hiiiiii kya kar raha hai?) sounds, no, looks like a big smile :)
  • MGh: why did the phone stop ringing? ohh I missed your 'halo' (actually 'kaisa hai pagal? kya kar raha hai? etc etc....) Can you be little louder now? ;)
  • MGo: Mann you are alive!!! Your 'halo' (actually 'oyy bol saale, kaisa hai?') sounds more like a confirmation note, that you are alive and still remember me! ;)
  • PKe: Some marathi underworld/political bhaaiii ! Your 'halo' (actually 'namaskaarrr') sounds like " tell me whats the problem? anybody troubling you? give me their address, I will see" ;)
  • PKh: No matter how girly your 'halo' sounds, I know it's you at the other end of phone!!!
  • SM: You are my senior, a very kind one, and your 'halo' says it!
  • SD: Your 'halo' (actually 'hii bhavinnnn kaisa hai? kya kar raha hai?') somehow manages to make me feel quite happy and good. Nice... :)
  • SB: Your 'halo' (actually 'bhavinnnnn... kaisa hai?') makes me feel I am seating next to you and discussing something which we left yesterday!!! :)
  • SS: Your 'halo'(and it's 'halo' only) is just the sound of your happy face!! And its quite clear that the happines is because I called you! (rest of the conversation is mostly about you not calling me!!! hahaha)
  • TFC: now most of the time, first call is to fix next proper call!! So for the next call your 'halo' (actully 'hann, bolo') tells me that you are now seating somewhere comfortably and ready to listen to whatever I talk to you and have something to share as well! nice! :)

NICE TALKING TO YOU ALL

life is a radio!....

Life is not like an i-pod to listen to your favorite songs….
It is a radio, you must adjust yourself to every frequency & enjoy what ever comes in it.
That’s real life…
I love radio.

On screen, Black is Green (?)

Came to know about the website http://www.blackle.com/ recently.
This website powered by Google custom search, basically does everything that google does, i.e. searching.... a very frequent task in internet usage. The concept behind Blackle is that computer monitors can be made to consume less energy by displaying darker colors. Blackle is based on a study which tested a variety of CRT and LCD monitors.
I was quite convinced by this and found it a cool idea to change colour scheme of my blog! But a little bit research on wikipedia and treehugger.com showed that this is true only for CRT, Plasma and OLED monitors and not much for LCD screens which are more common! So I don't know if my dark grey blog is saving any energy or not, but I am sure atleast it is not wasting any on any of the monitors. Readability on such colour scheme may be issue and I will change the colour-scheme if I get any such feedback from you. Going green is very essential, but not at the cost of any basic functionality. And whatever the research says about their effectiveness, we can give such efforts a try! Can't we?
(By the way, this change of colour scheme was also to signify writing my 100th post :)

cool....

Found this cool old pic of postmen with their cool bikes/scooters (or whatever you call it). Don't know much about the vehicles, but this front wheel driven tiny scooters also remind me of those velosolex things from 1946 invented in france. I quite liked the simplicity of this concept and very appropriate for the task (at that time).

moving fingers

This post is dedicated to the 'moving fingers' of Teamea. :)
"moving fingers' was a nice blog to read and I loved all the poetic part of it. Just like every blog has its own identity and style, 'rhythm' as I understand, was the theme for this blog. Not just in the name (and the pic above ;) ), this theme was reflected in every post in some or other way, in variety of topics, in her perception of life, in memories and and the current issues, in love for her language and respect for culture. It was indeed run by 'moving fingers'!
It's beyond my wisdom to understand what it means when you stop a blog! Whats exactly that one stops? Anyway, I wish atleast fingers are moving, even if we couldn't see them dancing... :)
Don't stop expressing, He has given you something special, appreciate it in the best possible way. Do write... for yourself (and mail it to me... heheheheh ;)

world's shortest love story..

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl ‘Will you marry me?
The girl said, ‘NO’
The guy lived happily ever after…. rode motorcycles, stayed out late, played video games a lot, drank beer, slept at the sofa, left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
The End
;)

Keep (re)discovering....

I don't know if everyone goes through this phase of 'rediscovering self', but I can relate to this phase quite easily, or may be I am in that phase right now... not just rediscovering myself, but trying to convince myself that it's the truth, trying to figure out how to use the rediscovered self, trying to condole my past self or to think if it really matters!
Anyway, just came across this article which made me think...
Do read this.
